Southeastern Pond Management Begins Lakes and Fishing Overhaul at Foxhall Resort & Sporting Club

Atlanta, Georgia – February 9, 2010. . . Southeastern Pond Management has begun implementation of its lakes management efforts at Foxhall Resort and Sporting Club outside Atlanta.  The 20-year-old lake and pond management group has been contracted to fertilize, maintain, and stock the resort’s nine lakes beginning with Lunker Lake, Foxhall’s main fishing lake, this spring.

“We’re going to be involved in every stage of managing Foxhall’s lakes,” says Scott Cherones, Vice President of Southeastern Pond Management.  “Foxhall Sporting Club’s significant contributions to their lake management programs demonstrate that they are in this for the long haul, and they want Foxhall to become a premier fishing destination.”

Lunker Lake is currently being refilled and will soon be stocked with coppernose bluegill, F-1 bass, fathead minnows, and threadfin shad.  Cherones expects the lake to be open for active fishing by summer 2011.  Southeastern Pond Management is also working on Frenzy Lake, a small pond adjacent to Foxhall’s real estate sales office that will be stocked with highly aggressive adult bass and hybrid striped bass.  Cherones says the pond will be a great spot for kids to fish and reap prompt rewards from their efforts.

“Southeastern Pond Management has a long and proven track record of managing some of the finest recreational lakes in the southeast,” says Merrill Trust Group’s Director of Sales and Marketing Steve Schneider.  “Our long-term vision here at Foxhall is to provide superior fishing opportunities to the avid sportsmen and women who will ultimately live and play here.”  The Birmingham-based lake and pond management firm has been in operation for more than two decades, and its clients have included Sugarloaf Country Club, U.S. Steel, Piedmont Driving Club, and a number of private landowners, including Ted Turner.

Foxhall Resort and Sporting Club is the nation’s first urban sporting club and is located on 1,100 acres on the western bank of the Chattahoochee River.  Located approximately 20 minutes from Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, the busiest airport in the world, this billion-dollar resort community has nearly two miles of river frontage, equestrian facilities, nine lakes, a planned 18-hole golf course and dozens of other amenities.

Merrill Trust Group, LLC, is a developer of private clubs and resort communities throughout the southeast.  Merrill Trust communities include Foxhall Resort and Sporting Club, the nation’s first urban resort and sporting club residential community in Atlanta, Georgia; Catatoga, a private retreat in Lake Toxaway, North Carolina; and Daytona Beach Resort and Conference Center, an oceanfront resort in Ormond Beach, Florida.
